In publishing, the word “Galley” once referred to a metal tray into which individual pieces of type were set. These trays were used to create a Galley Proof, a preliminary copy of the work, from which corrections and alterations could be made.

Galley Creative Co. was founded by graphic designer Sarah Peters, who was soon joined by her husband, editor Brock Peters. Together we attend to both elements of the Galley: Sarah, setting and designing the pages and type; Brock, finessing the words and sentences themselves.

We approach projects with a deep passion for books and writing, printing and design. Like a compositor using tweezers to tweak a Galley, attention to detail is how we express our passion, working with authors and publishers to craft brilliant books.

Born in the Yukon but raised in Winnipeg, Brock Peters is a lifelong student of the written word. He holds a BA in English, Mathematics, and Theology from CMU (2012), and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Winnipeg International Writer’s Festival. Brock’s short fiction has appeared in SubTerrain Magazine and The Shadow Over Portage and Main (Enfield & Wizenty, 2016), and he was the creator/editor of the three-volume Strong Badger Chronicle. His first novel-length work, The Strong Badger, was published in 2019, and a long essay entitled "A New Chronicle: The Strong Badger Reflects” was released in the fall of 2020.

Brock worked for many years as a Bookseller, before opening The Strong Badger Coffeehouse in 2016. His attention to detail and exacting standards serve him well as an editor, and he has an eye for simple tweaks that make a big impact. He considers it an honour to work with authors and creators on making their writing come alive.
